In shelter homes, dogs receive this care
When a puppy arrives at a shelter, it receives a complete medical check-up to determine its health status. Its teeth and skin are checked and it is verified that it is spayed or neutered. It is also weighed and measured to rule out malnutrition.
Afterwards, it is given a bath to eliminate fleas or ticks, its skin is treated and it is dewormed.
All this care, which lasts about a week, is a crucial first step in giving it a new chance at life.
Vaccines, essential for the health of this little friend:
When animals arrive at the shelter, they receive a thorough exam to assess their health. Once they are healthy and well, they are vaccinated and spayed, preparing them to find a loving new home.
Puppies, at 6 weeks, receive important vaccines such as parvovirus and distemper.
At 8 and 16 weeks, they are given further protection with additional vaccines, including rabies. Every year, or every two years in some places, they are boosted with new vaccines. This care is essential to give them a better life.
Healthy and safe food for your pet
The puppies that arrive at shelters are often very thin and need a special diet rich in protein and carbohydrates to strengthen their muscles and bones.
